I read a local newspaper today and I know finally the Bali bombers’ execution day is getting close. Amrozi cs will be executed to death anytime soon regardless their lawyers’ last effort to avoid the death penalty. A rumor has been flourishing among Balinese people regarding where the execution ideally shall take place: in Bali or in other areas beyond Bali?
Both sides have their own logical reasons which somehow related to Balinese spiritual belief of Hinduism. Those who agree that the execution must be done in Bali said: what Amrozi cs had done to Bali has caused not only the destruction of Bali and Balinese in material way but also the destruction of Bali in a spiritual way by doing such an action against the main Hinduism principle of ahimsa meaning no killing.
There is a ritual in Bali called mecaru basically meaning purification ritual. This ritual also has a sense of sacrificing something to please the bhutakala (the dark side power). That’s why Amrosi cs must be executed in Bali as ‘the part’ of the mecaru ritual, of course in the sense of psychological way, in order to purify the island. On the other hand, others simply believe that Amrozi cs are way too ‘dirty’ and are not worth to be considered as ‘the part’ of the purification ritual. If they are executed in Bali, they believe that it only will make Bali is getting worse spiritually.
Well whatever it is, I myself really do not care about where the execution will take place. The most important thing for me is executing them to death as soon as possible. No more law drama whatsoever.

I remember having visited your blogsite some weeks ago and then tried to remember who it was that had the blogsite about Bali. I couldn’t recall until you revisited my blog. Sorry about that.

Okay….about the sentencing of this Bali bomber. Is he the big fish? The one who masterminded the horrible incident? Or is he just a small fry who worked on the orders from someone else?
I have not been following the long winded developments of the Bali bombing case so it comes rather as a surprise that they seemed to have finally nailed it down to this guy.
There is a similar bombing case in Malaysia with regards to the bomb execution of a Mongolian woman named Altantuya. That case too is going through a mighty long winded court trial and Malaysians roll they eyes in dismay. Apparently, the one who gave the order is free at large and others are the sacrificial fall guys for the crime that was committed.
Pembunuh macam itu menurut saya kurang pantas mendapat hukuman itu. Terlalu ringan. Mereka sudah membunuh banyak orang tapi hanya segitu hukumannya.
Windmill, I don’t think they are the big fish a.k.a the mastermind of the bombing. Just the small fry. There are many rumors (conspiracy theory) regarding the Bali bombing but one rumor i remember the most is saying that Malaysia was involved in it as the big part of Malay govt to destroy the Bali tourism industry.
Ever heard about that rumors?

If one were to go by the famous cliche that the former PM, Tun Dr. Mahathir coined, “MALAYSIA BOLEH” begitu deh, apa pun boleh. LOL!
Seriously, that rumour has not reached me and this is the first time I get to know of such. Of the recent past, there has been too much rubbing the wrong way between Malaysia and Indonesia. This has not fostered the kind of relationship that should be espoused between fellowmen of the same bloodline. It is a shameful thing.
