Indonesian Anti Porn Bill for Dummies (Part 1)
CAUTION! Hello dummies out there, this is not the official but a free and slang translation of Indonesian Anti Porn Bill translated by myself using my broken English. It may contain my own personal perspective and understanding. Read and use it at your own risk! See the disclaimer! The original of the bill is in Bahasa Indonesia.
CHAPTER I
GENERAL TERMS
Article 1
1. Pornography is sexual materials (haha what the hell does sexual materials mean?) which are created by man in the forms of pictures, sketches, illustration, photos, writing, voice, audio, motion picture, animation, poetry, conversation, body language or in other forms which are published using various media of communication or in public show that could raise sexual desires and against the moral/ethic values in the society
2. Pornography service is any kind of pornography service provided by individual or corporate which is delivered by the following means: public show, cable TV, terrestrial TV, radio, telephone, internet and other type of electronic communication such as newspaper, magazines and the like.
3. A person is an individual or corporation either with or without a law firm
4. Children are people who are under 18 years old.
5. The government is the central government lead by the President of Republic of Indonesia as mentioned by the UUD 1945.
6. The local government is governor, the regent or mayor and other local staff
Article 2
This anti pornography law is based on the principle of Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa a.k.a One and the Only God, in order to appreciate the human dignity, the value of pluralism, the spirit of law enforcement, anti-discrimination, and to protect every citizen of Indonesia.
Article 3
This anti pornography law is aiming at:
a. to establish and maintain an ethical society, good personality and always appreciate with utmost the values of the principle of God and the Only God and also to respect human dignity
b. to teach and to educate people the meaning of moral
c. to protect citizens especially children from the danger of pornography and
d. to prevent the spread of pornography and commercial sex in the society.

well, I think it’s in our blood –it’s become RI trademark to ALWAYS violate the freedom of expression. do you remember the repression toward ahmadiyah? if one can violate the freedom of religion, why not violate other forms of freedom
